50 Beds Critical Care Block, Miraj

The 50-bed Critical Care Block for the National Health Mission at Miraj, Sangli, is designed as an extension of the existing Miraj Civil Hospital. The planning seamlessly integrates with the hospital, maintaining the existing corridor orientation for ease of movement.

Given the hot climate, the design incorporates additional shading devices to enhance thermal comfort. Passive cooling techniques are used to minimize heat gain and reduce energy consumption.

The building layout ensures efficient circulation for patients, staff, and emergency services. Well-ventilated wards and treatment areas provide a comfortable healing environment. Natural light is maximized through strategic openings while preventing direct heat exposure.

The exterior design maintains functional aesthetics while complementing the existing hospital structure. Dedicated isolation rooms and intensive care units are planned to meet critical care needs. The service areas are zoned efficiently to streamline hospital operations. Structural durability and low-maintenance materials ensure long-term sustainability.

The design prioritizes hygiene with easy-to-clean surfaces and proper waste disposal systems. Energy-efficient lighting and ventilation systems reduce operational costs. The overall design enhances healthcare infrastructure while optimizing patient care and staff efficiency.
